A Wondrous Thing

The Blackbird’s song up-lifts the heart,
He pipes his notes from top-most tree;
How strange that we are all a part
Of this life’s endless mystery!

How easy to o’erlook the wonder
Of all the shades of Autumn, Spring
Of Winter snows and Summer Thunder;
Life, ’tis, indeed, a wondrous thing.
